Hi All, I am struggling to rectify a problem. 2005 R1200 RT 89,7xx miles and of late after I take off the ABS will cycle fine and stop flashing, then 3-20 miles later it comes back on the warning and caution flashing. I stop and turn off the key, wait a few and restart. At ti...

Visit with my primary DR yesterday resulted in x-ray of hip, diagnosis of Osteoarthritis and a referral to an orthopedic surgeon in a couple of weeks. I'm kinda getting tired of Winter with the prostate diagnosis last winter and now this. The good news is that the retina specia...

Back when I was racing, my mentor, Gordon (5'7" tall, 5'9" around), had a lot of idiosyncrasies. SOME of his ideas were good. MOST o f them would get you killed (Racing tip #1: "You don't need to brake for turn one. The bike will make the turn easy.") Anyway, ...

I used JB weld, a two part epoxy to fill the scratches in my rocker cover. Sanded smooth and and painted with a Auto store rattle can silver paint. Near perfect. Funny the scratches were there when I bought the bike, under the guards. Mike...

Hi Alan, This kind of sounds like the old song that talks about a magic bus only in this case it's a chip. I go along with Roger on this in that the Motronic is adaptive and will lean the mixture over time towards 14.7:1 just the way it works. Better to go with the LC-2 or AFX...

I'd not heard of them before but those BMW case guards look pretty good and unobtrusive. I have the BMW VC guards basically for gentle tipovers which knock on wood has never happened in 20 years' riding, and those case guards should give similar protection without the whole bars ...

It would all depend on the specifics of the drop. Did you take a photo of the damage? If if were a straight tip over onto flat pavement these bumpers stick out well past the fattest parts of the case and so should take the initial brunt of a static drop. If I lay the side ca...

Try one of John-The-Greek's replacement chips in the Motronic. A proper pain to fit, but it might be worth a hundred-buck punt. He wants to know the details of your bike and whether it has the stock breathing, exhaust, etc. Certainly turned my UK '04 Rockster into much more of a...

Hi Cap, I kind of look upon my problem as just an example of BMW idiosyncrasy. I've actually never owned a BMW that didn't have a bit of built in character. Yeah, if i had a narrow band O2 sensor I would give it a try because the EV14s have definitely improved running at leane...
