I am hoping to get another ride before pulling my trans for some service . My driveway is still covered with enough ice to make it a little hairy . Maybe in a few days there calling for warmer weather . I havent had the bike out in almost 2 months . Stir crazy . Winter sucks sometimes . It came real early this year . Just had to vent .Dave

Oh, I feel your pain.
Stuck up here in Ontario, two feet of snow, and temps the last 3 weeks around 10F. Oddly enough, yesterday we had friggin rain. Either way riding is another 4 months away. I am looking a lot at pictures from last summer's riding

Ahhhh, so sorry to hear about your plight. I remember the days.
I grew up skiing, in fact skiing was my life. However, in the summer motorcycle riding was my life. Soooo, when it came down to moving to Florida I had to evaluate the two. Okay, I can live in VT and continue to be a ski bum (I still hated the cold) or move to Florida and ride all year.

Today's high close to 80. In fact I'm about to go on my Christmas ride through the Florida Alps. Gee, I'm still carving turns.

I do miss skiing though.

Sorry guys, just had to rub it in a bit.

Some folks drink or do drugs, I ride.

Even though it got up to 50* here today, there was still ice and snow covered streets (darn those northern facing streets and shade trees). I soooo wanted to ride, but didn't want to take the chance of hitting that one spot that didn't melt.

Hi ho. Regardless, the bike did get a good wash today.

Our local BMW club has a "Black Ice" ride scheduled for 1/1/2008. Temps are supposed to be in the high teens. <sigh>

I appreciate the need to vent guys. However, those of us who live in places that have a real winter should probably expect a real winter. Life is too short to be miserable even one day no less months at a time. I like to winter canoe and camp. It takes care of cabin fever for me. Hang in there.

Can't remember being grounded this long in winters past.
Hopefully an opportunity might present itself this weekend.

I rode 95.2 miles on Christmas day. I don't think I'm too far from you. It was my first ride in about 3 weeks. Thanks to the rain we had last week most of the salt and crap got washed off the roads and the temp got up to 43. I never felt unsafe. It felt great. I'm going to get out today also before the next load of snow/ freezing rain predicted for this weekend.
