Referring to taters opening remark (ive been watching baseball for years but I don't have a clue to the strategy of the game.) An old but really good book to go deep in baseball is George Will's 'Men At Work' It goes deep and will open your mind to the subtleties of the game. I'm a die hard national league fan HOWEVER this year I'm pulling for the Royals. My son-in-law's sister is married to their backup catcher Erik Kratz. I have met Erik on various occasions at family gatherings and Erik and I were both catchers at the same school, EMU. So my claim to fame is I was the second best catcher to play there!

When they swept the Yankees in a series this year I thought they looked very impressive.

But, Go Buster!

Yep, Mr. Posey was 2-3 w/3 rbi yesterday. Just another day at the office for the former rook of year, mvp, batting champ, 2 time world series winner.

Hey, anyone know the name of the Kansas City Royals first base coach?

I think it's Rusty Kuntz. He played for the Tigers in 1984 when they won the WS.

I was at the last home game in Wrigley Field this year and watched the Cubby's beat up on the Cards.

They have started a renovation of the stadium which will add a bunch of billboards in the outfield. Grrrrr..........

Oh well, tradition doesn't last forever. At least they didn't tear the whole thing down.

The Giants will be playing in KC.

My neighbor is Kirk Reuter, holds the Giants record for the most wins by a lefty. He has Dusty Baker's world series ring in his "shed" behind the house (6,000 sq feet and completely finished inside).

His home is 13,000 sq feet with 3 bedrooms and four garages.

Makes a good neighbor, doesn't play loud music or attract rowdy friends. grin

Wish it was going to be another I 70 series but it is not to be. cry

Indeed. Can't think of any sport where two wild card teams have met for a championship.

Go Buster!

Also very proud of L Cain, the Royals playoff MVP who played
ball here at Tallahassee Community College.
Congrats.

If my mind wanders, should I follow it?

It is interesting that in the postseason when pitching usually dominates, non of the top 20 qualifying pitchers for ERA are in the Series, and only one in the top 25 of wins is in: MadBum. And for strikeout leaders, only Bumgarner again.

Royals do have Holland and Davis who may be the premier closer/set-up combo in MLB.

Royals do have a very fast team w/nearly 3x the stolen bases of Gs. Haha, will Buster be able to gun them down???
