Its time to replace the worn out, stretched out rubber bands inside the saddlebags on my 2004 RT. These are used to hold the stored items in place.

BMW wants $12 ea. and there's 8 of them so was just wondering if anyone else has sourced an alternative.

See Item #7 in the attachment.

Thanks,

RPG

Nothing special. I replaced some similar straps with elastic banding that can be found at any many stores, but a fabric store will give you the best selection.

I replaced mine some years ago. As eddd says, the fabric store is your friend.

Fortunately before I sold my '06 RT I swapped the bag tethers since those on the '06 were heavy webbing with velcro at the ends. They fit the 2016 like a champ. When I checked to see if I could reorder the nice straps on the '06 O see they have replaced them with the wimpy elastic straps on the RTW's. I use the micro bungees with stick on nylon loops for the lid side.

All it takes is an open road and an open mind!
