redcat
Picked up a red 2007 R1200RT with just over 20K miles. Beautiful bike, fast and a lot quieter than current ride (2002 Yamaha V-Star 1100). Link to comment
temesvar
Nice bike! Will look even better with green background, instead of white At 20k miles is barely broken in! Enjoy! Link to comment
Groanup
Very nice! With only 20k, it's still just a baby! "They" say red is the fastest color. (I don't necessarily agree) Link to comment
Indy Dave
Nice choice! Welcome and enjoy the ride! Link to comment
redcat
Thanks, all. I've put a few hundred miles on it and am really enjoying it. Not surprisingly a much different ride than the V-STAR, and much more power. I'd been looking for 6 months almost daily on Craigslist and Cycle Trader at the R1200RT, FJR and Honda ST-Series, but BMW was always at the top of the list. Got lucky a few Saturday's ago browsing the internet over my morning coffee, and by that afternoon, I was the proud owner. This is my other ride, and I think it'll be stuck in the back of the garage for while. Link to comment
TEWKS
Good looking bike and low mileage to boot! This isn't inked in BBQ Sauce just yet, but, an idea of a springtime meet up with a few CT riders is floating around. Keep and eye out in ride planning for a BBQ run to B.T.'s Smokehouse in a month or so. Pat Link to comment

Dann
Nice ride Are you sure it's a 2007? I've never seen a red 2007 RT I don't think the red color was available for the 2007 model. Is it a custom paint job? AFAIK these were the available colors: Code Price Description 764 N / C Titan Silver Metallic 847 N / C Biarritz Blue Metallic N08 N / C Sand Beige Metallic You can check here with your VIN http://www.bimmer.work/ Link to comment
lkraus
bimmer.work has given me Captcha fits the last couple of times I used it. My settings might be a problem, but between two computers, two OSs, and four different browsers, I either never see a Captcha or I recieve endless Captchas. An alternate site that uses the VIN to check the factory options is https://www.mdecoder.com/. I'm with Dann on the color, I thought 2005 was the only year for a (factory) red Hexhead? Not that it matters, it's still a great model. Enjoy the ride! Edited February 25, 2018 by lkraus Link to comment

redcat
Title says it's 2007. VIN check (https://www.mdecoder.com) says it's a 2007. Color at VIN check is listed as BIARRITZBLAU METALLIC, which is blue not red. In the limited looking around (Color Rite), it does not look like red was available in 2007. Either someone did a flawless re-spray or somehow I have the only red 2007 R1200RT. Link to comment

redcat
Strange as it might sound, I had a 2003 Mitsu Eclipse. I bought new front brake pads only to find out the calipers were from a 2002. Guy at NAPA said it was not too uncommon for auto manufacturers to use up miscellaneous stock on the next model year (assuming it would fit). Sure enough, the 2002 pads fit. Don't know the rest to be true. I would assume 2006 body panels would fit a 2007. It's either that or (again) a flawless paint job. Either way, very happy with the bike and color. redcat
Mystery solved. Guy I bought the bike from had an 05 Red RT and he switched the panels when he sold the 05 since he liked red better. He also had a gray 06. Apparently a big fan of the model. I like my red 2007 R1200RT! Edited February 27, 2018 by redcat Link to comment
Kritou
What colour do your licensing docments say the bike is? Here in the UK it is an offence not to have the correct colour specified. It could possibly lead to issues with insurance and traffic offences Have to agree with you that red is a great colour for an RT Link to comment
redcat
Those say "Red" as the owner fills that in at the time the bike is registered at our local Department of Motor Vehicles. Link to comment
redcat
Picked up a 1981 R100RS this past week. Just need a white one now. Link to comment
tallman
A white R1100 RS(L) from early 90's would balance the fleet. Link to comment
