Engine Serial # break down Please

My serial number is 112 EA 2498 7128. Can anyone tell me production date and where made.

What's needed to tell you the month, year made is the last 7 digits of the VIN.

The VIN is 17 digits off the steering neck, your reg or insurance card.

Where made ?

Berlin.

I'm told by my old boss ,a long time dealer who was at the HQ many times for meetings etc, that it's more like Spandau but uh, it's Berlin.

Looking to find out out when the motor was made.

I have a couple of old (paper) BMW service bulletins on engine serial number ID & they touch on the year/week ID (sort of as not clearly or plainly written).

According to one of my bulletins 2498 points to the 24th week of 1998.
