Somehow I think these last few posts are a subliminal method to increase the amount of stops at FART for BBQ.

Or perhaps to stop for some "pulled pork"!

That looks like a 3 legged pig!!

Wouldn't be right to eat him all at once since it's kind of like family.

IN for Selden and Pam Deemer, arriving Friday, Sept 29, departing Sunday, Sept 30.

Dillard is about 90 minutes from where we live, so we'll try to hit the road early Friday morning.

As always, if anybody if coming up from the south, you're welcome to stay Chez Deemer on the way north. Full garage, guest room downstairs, futon upstairs

Hey Selden, talk to Ken. I believe he has a 5+ hour route from your house to Dillard.

Absolutely, but I turned 72 Monday, and Pam turns 70 on July 7. Except for the stretch from Clayton to Dillard, it's still a plenty entertaining ride, and I'm hoping to get there by 0900 (which is a problem, because Pam is a night owl). I think hitting the road at 0700 is a great idea; she is less enthusiastic.

If we don't want to arrive early, we might take Warwoman Road east from Clayton, then 28 up to Highlands, then 106/246 from Highlands to Dillard.

So many choices.

Seldon - I'm thrilled we're on your 'to-do' list this Fall! However you get to Dillard - di-rectly of a morning, late in the afternoon or evening, long way around or direct route - even if Pam has to drive you in the middle of the night while you nap - it'll be great to have you join us again!

Dave - how true, how true! Seldon and the rest of us 70+ guys need to keep involved no matter how much help we need to do so!

This is would be an accurate summation of our wedded blissful relationship, except the roles are reversed. The main exception would be when it comes to travel. I'm all about pulling anchor and shoving off very early, Mrs. Indy Dave, not so much. Once we get to where-ever, the roles revert and she's up and ready to go at unthinkable hours for vacationing soles. Case in point: I'm catching a 5am flight next week, something that would never, never-ever be considered by the Mrs.

I guess I better find a way to the airport. . . . . .

Horray Horray for the First of May JULY!

I know it's been hot,

But there's no need to cry.

The dog days of Summer

Will soon go bye-bye

But please don't stress

And strain your sad heart

All will be fine

Once you sign up to FART!

Mitch, it's been far too long. Be good to see you and your pal whose name I can't remember...he used to live in SC.

It's "SeldEn". I was born before photocopiers, and the first, handwritten, copy of my birth certificate was the beginning of the many misspellings I have endured. The Turks are the only ones who never misspelled my name. A long, long time ago Pam and I went to a 2-cantor wedding in Beverly Hills. After the first 15 minutes, I gave up and was "Sheldon" for the rest of the day.

I can't believe I didn't know about this place, but it seems it's a short ride from our event (Straight south). For those looking to do something besides ride all day, check out Tallulah Gorge.

Bring you hiking boots if you plan to walk down into the gorge. It is worthwhile, great vistas and good exercise!

In for Thursday thru Sunday. Reservations made.

After attending START and FART for a few years riding a black 2012 Yamaha Super Tenere I made the decision to make the leap to the dark side. A week after START 2018 I picked up a slightly used 2015 BMW R1200GS with only 4,500 miles on it.

The Michelin stickers have been removed.

I've been spending a lot of my summer adding a myriad of farkles getting it ready for FART 2018.

Jim, Dave and Ron - Woo Hoo!! Glad you'll be FARTing with us this Fall! I'm out on the road this month, but will get the tally updated shortly. Kinsley and I are as enthusiastic as ever :bike::Yes:, so please don't take my slow response personally.

Dave - I understand the pull the the Dark Side. No, really I do:

And The Silver Bastard took nifty shot once I got them back to civilized roads, and it speaks volumes :spittake:.

Why does the top picture show it laying on its right side but the bottom picture makes it look like it fell on its left? :) More to the story?
