Luggage

i-beem

Recommended Posts

'06 R1200RT with side cases and trunk, I'm looking for a passenger-seat bag/backrest combo. Searches turn up the generic sissy-bar options from Saddlemen, etc., want something better suited to the beemer. Any suggestions? Thx

To clarify, you want something to sit in the pillion position to hold stuff and act as a backrest, or do you want something to sit behind the pillion and act as luggage and a passenger backrest?

One of these

And a dry bag.

Bmw makes a soft tail bag/top box sort of thing that you could probably put between the backrest and top box you already have. Or you could do what I did and make a plate to fit over (or in place of) the rear seat and mount whatever case you like to that.

Years ago I saw luggage bags that were "U" shaped. I don't know if they are still made or not. I did a search and came across this link: https://advrider.com/index.php?threads/who-sells-the-u-shaped-waterproof-bag-that-iv-seen-on-some-ones-bike-on-here.494644/ which may be useful (but it is old).

I use an ordinary duffel when I pack a lot of camping gear. It sits on the seat behind me. I did have to put on mirrors (some KRS mirror, years ago)to see over it though.
