eddd
Right yes, left no/intermittent. While it might be too late for the left, the following will definitely help the right from ending up like the left. I also suggest that others might use the procedure as a prophylactic measure to extend the life of these earphones. The product I've successfully use on both the ear and plug end is Sugru. It is described as a mouldable glue that will harden into the shape you desire. This is a very useful product that I always keep on hand, stored in the refrigerator as suggested by the manufacturer. If you can get the left wires in a position where they are functioning you might be able to affect a permanent repair. This of course assumes that you are unable to find someone or some other way to repair the wires. The wires in the cord of these earphones are ultra thin and coated to provide insulation rather than being covered like more traditional wiring. Link to comment

beammeup
Have you contacted Etymotics? I had a similar issue and they replaced the earbuds entirely - very pleased. Link to comment
Woodie
OMG...I'm such an idiot. Replaced the filter, and magically...sound comes out again! You'd think I'd know this by now. :O Link to comment
