Is it required that the engine oil be drained to do a valve adjustment?
I've always done mine at the same time I was doing an oil change.

A friend of mine want's to do a valve check on his R1200R 2007 but just did his oil change.

The oil level is well below the cylinders - look at the sight glass. On the center stand, he'll get the same drips he gets with the sump drained.
