I was hoping this form of racing didn't continue wither and die off. Good to hear there is a focused attempt to grow it.

For Americans flat track has been a great feeder program for to road racing. Not so sure about today but in the 70's & 80's some the best US F1 racers came from flat track.

While Trials is my favorite competitive motosport, the limited amount of flat track and Ice racing (studded tire era) i did paid big dividends on skills that have had translation to street riding...Like not panicking and responding with the right inputs to keep the bike upright when the tires loose traction. I will say that specifically ice racing taught me how to back it into a corner even more than riding on the dirt as the traction consistency on ice really allows one to focus on technique.

A flat track mile race is like no other race you have seen. It is incredible to watch them step the rear of the bike out at 130 MPH to set up for the corner. A must see for any bike race fan!
