Traveling east to Nova Scotia -- Recommendations

Hi Everyone,

I would like to take a trip from Michigan to Nova Scotia and PEI in the Spring. Maybe follow the St. Lawrence Seaway and stop in Quebec City which I have heard good things about. Any tips on roads to ride, great eats, places to stay, sight seeing, would be very appreciated.

Bob if you need recommendations for roads or routes around New England and Nova Scotia, the New England Rider’s website is full of information. 

I've done most of the route several times.  I'd advise staying on the coast as much as possible if you have the time.  Much longer but more scenic.

One of my favorite long rides. NS is a special place, don't rush thru it. Don't miss Meat Cove.

Ride counter clockwise, keeping water on your outside view.

There were a lot of B&B's there we liked. Made reservations way in advance.

Plenty of opportunity to immerse in local cultural events, seek them out.

We enjoyed a big Ceilidh Saturday night, music and good food everywhere.

Hey Michigan Bob—Did you make that trip?Ive been up to Atlantic Canada each of the last 3 summers.Did you go through Thousand Islands on the way?Im headed there now then East to Sanguenay Region of Eastern Quebec,north of the St.Lawrence

RTinNC just got back from that ride following Americade.  He probably has some routes and suggestions.

The trip is longer than you think.  Quebec is a beautiful town, plan on at least two days there, when you get to Nova Scotia, you will want to see Lunnenberg, take a sunset cruise on a schooner  Peggy's Cove, Cape Bretton Island where Meat Cove which is at the Northern Tip of Cape Bretton resides,  Prince Edward Island is where Ann of Green Gables was written, you can see her home, you may want to go whale watching, Halifax has a lot of history, the Casino has good deals and indoor parking, tour the fort in Lousibourg in Cape Bretton, at least 4 hours, and Lousibourg is a great town to stay,  Digby has some tides that are fascinating.  When you are traveling on the costal roads, you will be holding 35 MPH, +/- so the going is scenic and slow, plan on at least 10 days to see what I outlined. Maybe more, Good luck, be a tourist, not a rider.
