Bud
Yesterday I went to the woods where I deer hunt. Moved a stand from one location in the woods to a different location. During the process I lost my wedding ring (51 years last August). My friend who was helping and I looked and looked and didn't see it. I thought I would just have to get a new one. Today I borrowed a metal detector from a friend of Nancy's. Found it 5' away from the tree in the second location. I called Nancy and said I was more sentimental than I realized as I was overjoyed to get it back. Link to comment
TEWKS
Glad you found it, Bud! My lost and found story I found a replica gold bar at the local landfill when I was about twelve years old. I thought it was real until I read the back saying it was a copy of the gold stored at Fort Knox. Still didn't want to believe it was fake, but it was. Anyway, it disappeared about twenty years ago, I had no idea where it went. Years go by and your memory plays tricks, I kinda forgot about the print on the back. Anyway, I found it about two weeks ago in a place that I have no memory of ever putting it. Well, It's still a fake gold bar, but it was like finding the kid that loved to poke around the landfill looking for treasure forty two-ish years ago. Pat Link to comment

szurszewski
Good thing - hate to see you have to start over - don't think you'd have any chance of doing as well (and certainly not better)! Link to comment
tallman
Good result. I've found a lot of things, including 2 diamond rings. One of them jeweler said was from late 1800's early 1900's, a beautiful gold setting with nice diamond. Second was modern engagement ring, gold, nice diamond. 2 rings, 100 years apart, similar purpose, lost, found by same moke. One in the woods, one on the road. They're out there... Link to comment
