ArmyGuy
Took a little ride out towards a place called Jackson Cabin yesterday. Unfortunately, we had to turn around before we got to the cabin as my buddy's KLR decided it wanted to shear a bolt holding his subframe to the main frame. Anyway, it was perfect weather in SE Arizona for riding. Link to comment
Dennis Andress
A pair of vice grips would fix the KLR... Link to comment
TEWKS
Dennis It's a KLR, vice grips may be a little uppity, dontcha think? A discarded piece of Deer Antler jammed through the bolt hole should do. Another nice looking ride area, Mike! Pat Link to comment
ArmyGuy
Deer antler. That is funny!! Link to comment
ArmyGuy
I put a few miles in last weekend behind the Huachuca's. Great day for a ride. Napping on the job at 6500 ft. Guess even my G650X gets tired. Zero mph drop wouldn't have happened if my legs were 3 inches longer....lol. The road heading back up into the mountain used to go through Fort Huachuca into Sierra Vista. The road is now blocked though. [/url] Heading down the valley towards the West. Down to a more manageable 5500 ft. Coming down off Motezuma Pass looking East. 1 Link to comment
KTM Doug
You mention that you dropped down to a more manageable 5500 feet from 6500 feet. How's that? Did your legs get longer as you went down in altitude? Edited December 6, 2018 by KTM Doug Link to comment
ArmyGuy
Doug, kind of....lower altitude = closer to the earth's core....so, more gravity pulling on my legs to make them longer. It was less laboring to breathe at lower 5500ft. Link to comment
KTM Doug
Guess what would happen if you went to Colorado and rode all over the 13k passes near Ouray However the many times I have ridden there I do not remember anything helping me touch the ground any better Link to comment
ArmyGuy
LOL!! Too funny. Link to comment
Skywagon
what he meant to say is the higher I went, the larger my tires became balancing ambient external pressure, and therefore my legs got shorter. When I came back down the ambient pressure shrunk my tires, and therefore my legs got longer. Link to comment
