Vozz Helmet?

Interesting concept that debuted back in 2016. Although there are reviews as late as January this year.

If you actually go to order one on on the VOZZ site there is this disclaimer ...

NB: PURCHASES MADE BETWEEN 5 FEB 2018 TO 25 OF FEB 2018 WILL BE DELIVERED BY BEGINNING OF MARCH.

Please contact us prior to purchase.

Not very confidence inspiring when info on a site is that far out of date.

The only dealers seem to be in Australia. And even then, none listed that I checked actually offer the helmet for sale.

The concept seems intriguing, with the potential for a quieter helmet and less risk in some medical emergencies.. Maybe they're still working out the bugs? Looks like they now passed Euro Helmet specs.

Newer Test (Jan 2018)

And this piece from June of 2018. This article mentions the possibility of Vozz licensing the design and also that it's DOT certified.

It was mentioned in the MOA magazine this month. Appears to be available through some US-based internet retailers.

I want to try one on before I decide on it.

Ok.

Pros, and cons.

My first concern is the removal by emergency rescue.

Without training the removal is not instinctive or similar to any other.

Without tools and proper removal order, no go.

No input for hydration while riding.

Sun.

No internal or external sunscreen.

So, glare becomes issue as does riding into the sun,

Back to putting electrical tape on the visor screen?

Short stop, have to remove and place it down.

Seems ungainly.

Seems as if you have to "close" it and reopen all the time to set it down.

Cumbersome process.

One of the advantages, to me, of a modular was the convenience of stopping, raising front, conduct business,

hydrate, etc, Don't have to remove earbuds etc. Don't have to put helmet "somewhere" and hope it is secure.

Hope it doesn't get knocked off and on the ground or kicked over on the ground.

Safety?

It may be.

That's good.

Most of us would benefit more by adding protection/armor to legs and thorax areas, IMO.

Still, good to see an attempt at solution to a problem, (helmet removal by rescue), even if I find it short of that mark.
