I replaced the battery on my '98 R1100RT with an Odyssey PC680. Couldn't find that in your list. Needs "L" terminal adapters.
Very good battery with very high cranking current. Recommended.

Beemer Boneyard sells replacement belt for about US $12; I believe that they do ship to Canada.
http://www.beemerboneyard.com/daycoaltblt.html

If no luck, MAX BMW fiche shows the 779 / 4PK611 for US $23 - select Engine Electrics Section - Generator.

Good luck! Robert.

Got a belt from Napa. Bike is in a heated shop 15 min. away. I will get a number tomorrow and post it. They had to order it but only couple days. Slighty shorter but no problem. I carefully removed my HES unit and checked and lubed connector. I used some "liguid electric" tape on a few vulnerable spots in the wiring. Kind of wierd that the HES is behind and louvered cover behind all the crap that sprays up off front wheel..going to put flap on mudguard.

Sorry If I am in the wrong place here. Just bought a 2001 R/1100/rt and new to forum. I got a set of NGK Iridium 1X BKR7EIX 2667 plugs thinking they were for my bike. It is a single spark plug model. Are these OK for my bike? I can't see a way to start a new thread and guess its due to me being a new member of forum. Wayne

R/1100/RT (2001) Longest ride 10,000 miles in a month around country on my R/90/S back in late 70's.

Wayne: the R1100RT uses NGK BKR7EKC-N, Bosch 4418, Autolite AP3923. I do not know what is the difference between these and what you bought, but it does not sound like you have the right part.

The part numbers listed above are from the Beemer Boneyard web site.
Visit them at Beeemer Boneyard - R11 Spark Plugs and just buy the right stuff - it's only about $12 per set.

Beemer Boneyard is a great resource for BMW riders - and a local NJ shop, too.

Regarding creating new threads: go to the top page of the forum that you want to post in.
For example, for Oilheads, go here . Click on NEW TOPIC on upper left. That's it.

Good luck with your bike. Robert.

Robert, Thanks for your reply. I bought autolite 3923 per oilhead maintance manual published by BMW internet riders? edited by Carl Kulow. I will be more than willing to trade parts here. Its about getting it right and having friends online. My plugs if ng will no doubt be donated to the cause. I did PM and found unequal vacuums rigAdjusted cables and idle screws but not sure if gauges are bad or I am seeing a problem?

Thanks,

Had anyone ever tried to source the U-joints for the drive shaft for a R1150RT? I do not see them in the parts list. I know they are kind of crimped into the yokes, but thought they might be possible to replace vs. replacing the entire shaft. Thoughts?
