Somewhere, a few days ago, I read how to post pics from Google Photo. Now I can't find it anywhere. It was a little different, several different extensions to try, "?.jpg", etc.

Earlier this year Google announced it is "Moving on from Picasa" (abandoning) Picasa in favor of Photo, and they admit the URL link is not quite ready for prime time on Photo.

Anyone have any info on how to post from Google Photo??

Okay, I have done some work in this area and gotten pics from google to successfully load. But it isn't very straightforward...

1) Open your google pics page and click on the one you want to post so it comes up full size
2) Right click on the image, and then click Properties.
3) A new tab will open with information about the picture.
4) You want to copy all of the information in the Address field. I'm lazy, so the way I do this is to:
..a) Click once in the text that is in the Address Field
..b) Hold down the Control Key, and hit the letter A (Select All)
..c) Right click in the now highlighted area, and then click Copy
..d) At this point, close the Properties box
5) Open your post where you want to put the picture, and click on the Insert an Image icon ( to the right of the envelope)
6) In the box that comes up, Right Click and then select Paste (You can just hit Control-V if you're lazy like me...)
7) Before you hit return, go to the end of the text you just pasted, and type ?.jpg and then hit return
8) Click on the box that says "I want to preview my changes" and the image should be included in your post

Here's an example from a bike that is currently in the Classifieds:

I hope this is helpful.

I copied that address, minus the '?.jpg' and img tags, and pasted it into a new browser tab. That showed your picture. I then right-clicked on the picture, and selected 'copy image address'.

Then, in this post, I pasted that and appended '?.jpg' inside the image tags. What I posted looks like this:

Which results in this:

Hope this helps,

Brian

Well, Glenn, I'm still doin sumthin rong.

When I get the pic to full size on GooglePhoto and right click, there is no PROPERTIES, only OPEN... SAVE... COPY... COPY... SEARCH..., and INSPECT.

INSPECT will pull up a whole bunch of info including what looks to be the URL of the pic.

But, using the COPY IMAGE ADDRESS, then ENTER AN IMAGE (BMWST), then adding "?.jpg" to it, gets this:

Any ideas??

I had managed to post a couple of pics a few days ago but something changed. Whatever changed knocked out my AVATAR and had to re-do that, too.

Latest version of the Google Photo app, Win 8.1, Chrome Canary.

Hey, Brian.

THANK YOU for sorting this out!! What a pain!!

That extremely long URL you got reset my BMWST forum VIEW to three screens wide!!

I kinda see what Google means by "still being developed", or some such.

Looks like changing over to Flickr may be the best option for me.

Thanks again for the help!!
