Here are BMW part numbers for two types of bulbs for a 2006 R1200RT (and obviously other model years too). One is for the brake/tailights; qty 2 are needed. The other is the yellow turn signal bulb (if you have the clear turn signal lenses); a total of four are needed for the front and rear turn signals:

1) 63 13 2 306 150 Bulb, 12V 21W (clear bulb for tail/brake lights x2); and

2) 63 21 7 160 791 Bulb, Yellow, 12V 21W (for F/R turn signals).

Anyone know what size or the part no. for the torx screws are that are used to attach the trim panels on a 2008 R1200RT? I seem to misplace those regularly.

After searching Max BMW, I believe all the torx fasteners for the trim is this one:

part #: 06327651212 BINDING HEAD SCREW - M5X16 SI

HP

Hi all, I've got a few questions pertaining to maint. parts, datal I've got access to valvoline synthetic brake fluid that exceeds dot 4 & 5. It does not say its silicone (silicone is not to be used right?) Can I use this fluid? Also, what is the deal with the clutch circuit? Some say lifetime mineral fluid, and some say it gets flushed. What gives?

There's nothing in the maintenance schedules that calls for routine changing/flushing of the clutch fluid for hexheads.

BTW, I've discovered that my Ace Hardware carries all of the Torx screws need for the tupperware. There is a big section of machine screws, etc and I did not see them at first. There is a separate section in the same aisle for metric stuff. That is where I found a trove of Torx screws.

Just replaced one of the side-lights on my 05 R1200RT. Books calls for a 12V, W5 W bulb - used a Sylvania #168 LL bulb. Works great!

Do we want this up on the front page? Also, has anyone found any after market air filters?
