This has probably been asked a million times but I tried to do a search and nothing really helpful came up.

What's the recommendations for engine oil on the R1100R? Full synthetic of some sort i'm sure but what weight or brands? How much roughly does the engine hold? Thanks again.

Tom Cutter has a great line, when asked about what type of oil to use: "Enough." Look in your manual for the specs the oil needs to meet, and put in "enough." You'll be all set.

Good line, But. The bike isn't mine, i'm merely working on it for someone so I don't have the manual. It tells me under the seat the weights it requires but thats about it. Does car oil work or is it a wet clutch and requires motorcycle oil?

My memory's all I've got here since I'm too lazy to go to the garage now, but I believe SF / SG rated 20W/50 is what you're after. Asking which brand just opens a can of worms, so just use your judgment on that one.

The bike won't care so long as it meets the standards set forth by the manufacturer. Buy the oil that makes you feel good.
