3rd Annual NorCal meets SoCal in the Middle ride Saturday April 10th . Mark your calendars, and plan for a great ride in the foothills of Fresno, Madera and Mariposa counties. For those of you not familiar what transpired the last two events I will be hosting a ride in areas of which I’m familiar. My home will be available for staying the night of Friday April 9th and Saturday April 10th.
Last year 22 riders made the ride fun. I divided them into two groups. Franz(Zweiradfreak on the forum) led one group he knows the foothills very well. I led the other. This made it more manageable. Still we managed to leave a couple behind and I will strive to not let that happen. You know how that goes. Franz has already volunteered to lead again and I hope to enlist another lead rider this year so we can have three groups. Alternatively I promise to have routes available for anyone wanting to program their GPS or print out the route for following at their own pace.
There will be an evening social get together both Friday evening and Saturday for getting reacquainted and meet riders for the first time. My propane tanks will be filled this year for uninterrupted grilling of hamburgers. Ice chests will be available for chilling your beverages so all we need is you. A market and liquor store is only minutes away.
Blackhawk Lodge 28536 Highway 41, Coarsegold, CA 93614 (559)868-3596 is only a few minutes away. It isn’t the Ritz but all who stayed there said they would do it again. Chukchansi Resort and Casino (chukchansigold.com) is very much a nice place and only about 18 minutes from my house. Oakhurst is 30 minutes north of me and many motels.
The if you want to pitch a tent here is plenty of space to do so in my yard. There is also adequate floor space; Gery gets the spot behind the love seat. (I still have your jacket liner.) We have three cats so if you are allergic to cats be forewarned. With all the people milling around they will likely be hiding so you may never see them.
I think the Fairway Café did a fine job accommodating us on short notice; I must thank Heck for warning them. We can eat a breakfast there on Saturday morning and a lunch stop somewhere along the route. In all you can count on about 180-200 miles of twisty mountain/foothill roads.
All we need now is pleasant weather and you. Are you IN!

I'll be passing through your area enroute to the UN, Joe, and I look forward to picking your brain as to the "don't miss" roads. Count me in!

I am in ... and ... again I will take my space behind the house for the tent. Following your suggested "secret" roads home was great.

Blackhawk Lodge 28536 Highway 41, Coarsegold, CA 93614 (559)868-3596 is only a few minutes away. It isn’t the Ritz but all who stayed there said they would do it again. It isn't even the Motel 6! It's an old place with lots of "character". But they all look the same with your eyes closed, and yeah, I'd stay there again. In fact, I WILL stay there again. IN! This is a really fun ride, folks!

Hey Joe, can we come too? Myself and the other usual suspects from down here in the desert sure would like to come ride in your back yard. We promise to behave, really! Made a few calls, got the kitchen pass OK'ed, so we are IN Don J
