My son in law is restoring a 1967 Mercedes sedan. Yesterday he pulled the gas tank drain plug so he could begin the process of relining it, and pulled out a long uh, thing...see photo. Anyone ever see anything like that before? His guess is a gas can extension. I say no. It's plastic.

Looks like someone tried to siphon the gas and left the evidence behind.

Well, so much for evidence since you have handled the pipe. You've tainted the crime scene .

Heard in the break room of the local hospital.....

Dr. Dis - "Hey, did you see that post Mark put up last night?"

Dr. Terry - "Yup, sure did. That was from that 1974 proctology case we botched. I thought you said you got rid of the evidence in that one?"

....another case of Dr. Dis and Terry (get it?).....

What is that thing? Looks like a piece of PVC conduit, with a bell end where the red thing is stuck in there. Is it rigid, or flexible, like a rubber hose?

["dysentery" wonk. wonk. wonk.]

Pretty stupid "joke." What does digging up a grave have to do with this?

I haven't actually seen the thing in person, but yes, it looks exactly as you describe it.

That red thing at the end is a magnet. It's meant to align all the ions in the fuel so the molecule don't bunch up in the gas line. If you don't put it back you'll see a 74% decrease in mileage.
