Due to a recent "accident" with a new pair of boots I managed to "scar" the paint on my RT lowers (the bits of the bike painted in silver).

Does anyone know the PPG/RAL/Whatever code for this paint?

Thanks!

Kakugo,

Not sure if this will help you, as this is a paint available off the shelf at many auto parts stores her in the US...

But, it is from a company "Dupli-Color" # BNS0595 "Platinum Metallic"
Where my heels of my boots touch I've worn away the paint... I'll say this paint isn't 100% a perfect match.. but 95%! Only under bright sun and if you know what your looking at can you tell the difference.

Thanks for the replies.

I have used RS colors to touch up my Honda frame and it was a 100% match, so I looked up their website... after much searching (if it's not a main color it's very hard to find!) I found this:
Silver trim finish

According to some websites the color used by BMW is called Weiss Aluminum Metallic... but I'll be damned if I can confirm that!

You might try these folks . I've used them in the past and the color was spot on.

As near as I can tell, ColorRite only lists the body panel paints, not the basic silver of the running gear. Correct me if I'm incorrect, please, because my silver paint is scuffed also.

I had this number #8055 that might be the right match.

Thanks, LBump. Don't know why I couldn't find it.

Kakugo - here in the States most higher-end body shops now use a computer color-match machine to actually read the paint and then develop the mix for it. It helps account for fading, etc. If those same systems exist in your neck of the woods that might be a decent way to go.
