I just picked up a 2005 low mile R12RT over the weekend. I like it! I have owned a couple of R11RS's and a 1150RT in the past but this is the first 12RT.

On my 1150, I mounted GS mirrors because when loaded the stock mirrors were blocked and almost useless. Looks like I am going to have the same issue with this one. Looking for ideas to get some better rear vision. What is the best option for extra mirrors?

Tried a search but found little.

The mirror from the G 650 GS Sertao works well on RTs. Here is a link from A&S' online parts:

My personal favorite is the BMW OEM K1200RS mirrors. Their look just fits with the overall sporting look of the 1200RT hexhead.

Not cheap & you will need the special nuts but they fit great & look factory (will drop right into the factory holes on the 1200RT hexhead bars)

+1 on dirtrider's recommendation....

Had them on my '06, and have them on my '08. Wouldn't leave home without 'em.

How do these mount? The ESA box and the brake fluid reservoir take up all the handlebar and there is no visible way to attach them that I can see. Those mirrors are exactly what I want but ......how do I mount them?

Your 2005 1200RT has a factory mirror mount hole in each side hand grip switch housing. (look closely & you will see the hole in the switch gear on each side)

Yep, I have the RS mirrors on my 06 RT. Bought them in the classifieds here a few years ago for around $90. A great add-on.
