roadscholar
..or any big or mid-size trailie (all brands), on the road or off doesn't matter. And maybe a short why and where? I'll start with a few. yep I'm on the back seat, seems my WR250 sputtered to a halt on hwy 50 a few miles from the campground because it sat all Winter and luckily two young Brits and their dad (traversing the U.S.on BMW's) gave me a lift. I'd been trying to get the central Fla tag-o-rama fellas to extend the boundaries north and south to generate some interest and offered one of these spots as the NE corner. The Vilano Beach approach or the castle a few miles up A1A from there. Had to stop and get a pic of this F650 in Salida, it's the only other "train tracks" paint scheme I've seen. This is me heading over Waunita, Cumberland, and Cottonwood Passes a few years ago. looks like it's raining (or snowing) in Aspen : ) So let's see'em, whadya got? Link to comment
TEWKS
Not quite a GS but one heck of an adventure! 05 GS on Success Pond Rd heading to Maine for an overnight camp out. My T/B (two bellies yuk yuk) out in Glacier. A demo of the new at the time 13 GS/LC. Pat Link to comment

roadscholar
Good stuff guys, I kinda figured there was some history in there somewhere : ) Doug I had a blue/grey '05 just like that for awhile, miss it. Pat, a Funduro is a bona fide GS anyday in my book, but for the nomenclature. Link to comment
OoPEZoO
I don't get to throw a leg over it nearly as often as I want anymore, but its still my favorite do everything bike. Parked at the top of Alpine Tunnel Link to comment

roadscholar
That is way too "Manly" for me to take up Alpine Tunnel. Me too Doug, I was on a 650 and even crashed it a little. There were some manly men along tho, and one adventurous woman. It was a heck of a day, wish you'd have been there. Link to comment
OoPEZoO
Its only a problem if it falls over I much rather would have been on something smaller, but I probably wouldn't have been able to ride a WR250 the 1900 miles home in 2 days. Next time out there....I'm either going to fly and borrow something, or trailer out. I'd really like to add a WR450 to the garage, but that might still be a few years out as I don't have time to ride the current 3 bikes I have. Link to comment
TEWKS
as I don't have time to ride the current 3 bikes I have. Baby Girls will do that to ya! DAMHIK. Edit...ok I know I said don't ask, but let me tell you anyway. Do you see any wheels under that beast? No, no you don't! Hooves...GD...Hooves! Kidding...a little. roadscholar
C'mon let's see some big trailie pics! On or off road.. Here's a little photo essay of my Wee Strom before it left Colorado last Fall and got sold. A great bike to leave somewhere (thanks guys), inexpensive and dependable as a rock but unfortunately for me a little too utilitarian. I took it exploring one afternoon on some forest roads up toward the Continental Divide. Lots of smoke that day, the forest service was doing a controlled burn. Dead end, which nearly all roads leading to the CD are.. Let's try a different one. Link to comment

roadscholar
2nd pic in that post I thought I was gonna have a bath.... Well just so you know, it was a bit nippy : ) Here's a ride I did a few years ago on the old KLR. KLR's are like Rodney Dangerfield, they don't get much respect but are a great bike to explore on because they have a lot of fuel, are reliable as an anvil, and pretty decent offroad considering the weight. I started in Buena Vista and rode north up the east side of the Arkansas. See the RR trestle in the background, the tracks have been taken up now and a road has replaced them, and it is purty. The Arkansas is one of America'a great rivers, it runs into the Mississippi south of Memphis and begins about 25 miles north of here. Had to cross over on the last bridge to keep heading north on the hwy. At the stop sign I glanced left, saw this coming and made a quick decision to go for it. Then I remembered, it's a KLR you dummy! Then I took the turn off to head up Weston Pass. Looking good Link to comment
roadscholar
At the summit I ran into (I think) John from Cincinnati. He was going the other way riding the Colorado BDR, had gotten separated from his buddies and was a little concerned. He said if I ran into them let em know he'd wait at the top awhile then go on to Leadville. about 2/3 of the way down I saw some bikes it was his guys they were glad to know where he was Near the bottom I took a couple side roads that looked like a fun shortcut back south but decided against it being solo. "nice earrings honey, don't do anything hasty" : ) then it got a little weird looking and eventually ended at a closed gate so I turned around and headed back to the highway. You can skip through the bull and take a lap if you haven't already! BTW, they warned us not to exceed sixty MPH or they'd flag us off the track. I think Ray took his chances with that though. KTM Doug
I have a friend that bought one for $600 last year out of NV. Almost looked new and all he had to do was recover the seat. Now, the TM400 was a different story. I had one. It hurt a lot of riders. Link to comment
