happybrown
At what mileage are k1600 needing valves shimmed? Link to comment
TEWKS
Checked at 18,000 IIRC. Expensive due to the labor costs in getting to them. Was quoted somewhere in the 800 dollar range back in 2013. Pat Link to comment
happybrown
Mine were ok at 20k but now have 36k, so just wondering when people are needing them done? Link to comment
TEWKS
Yeah, after rereading, I realized I gave you an answer to a question you weren't asking. No hard evidence but I'd bet if they were spot-on at twenty thousand miles they will be fine a forty thousand also. Pat Link to comment
Dennis Andress
The K1300's valves never changed. Pay the money to have them checked at 18K and 36K, then forget about it. Link to comment
Brian Louw
There is a poll going on the k1600forum at the moment. I guess it depends whether you feel lucky or not. I do it for peace of mind, but I do my own and it never required adjustment at 18k nor 36k. See link Link to comment
