Hello to all. I'm about to splash out on a 2006 R1200RT, which will also be my first bike in over 30 years!

With luck, I should get to test ride on Saturday, do a deal with the dealer and ride away a couple of weeks later. The only thing stopping me is a little trip to Atlanta, GA.

It's going to be a great couple of weeks.

Really looking forward to learning from and contributing to a great forum.

Meaning you have not been on a motorcycle in 30 years? I'm usually a FBTSOYP (figure that one out and win a lollipop ) kind of guy but if that's the case, maybe a riders course would be a good idea.
