$950 2004 R1150RT

Just bought a mechanics special 2004 R1150RT for $950.

P.O. took apart for a new clutch at 100K, went to dealership for parts and got a new 2016 RT. Bike was split in half, there is a problem with the trans housing-a crack. Will post a picture of trans after I unload bike today. Figured even with bad trans case bike could be donor for my current 2004 RT, lots of parts.

Hoping to rebuild bike for a backup commuter, P.O. took good care of the bike, and was the original owner. Prior to taking bike apart for clutch, he had a tip over in his garage getting on his lift. He had his bodywork repaired and repainted the stock grey color, it all looks like brand new tupperware. Just a couple scuffs on the right saddle bag.

If trans is not able to be repaired, will be on the hunt for a replacement. Best place to buy the clutch parts? This being my first RT clutch replacement.

Beemerboneyard supplied mine for a recent rebuild. It certainly wasn't cheap though. I can't complain about the service or quality of the parts.

Since there is no apparent rush, I'd put some likely search terms on my Ebay watch list and wait a few months to see what pops up. There are about two dozen available now.
