AnotherLee
Just had to share this - Command and Control Video A chilling nightmare plays out at a Titan II missile complex in Arkansas in September, 1980. A worker accidentally drops a socket, puncturing the fuel tank of an intercontinental ballistic missile carrying the most powerful nuclear warhead in our arsenal... Link to comment
MarkAZ
We watched that the other night. Pretty scary stuff. I vaguely remember hearing about it on the news at the time. There were something like 18 Titan sites here in Arizona, one of which has been preserved as a museum open to the public down south of Tucson. I think it's the only one still in existence. It even has a real Titan missile in it (no warhead or fuel, of course ). Might be an excuse to ride down there & have a look. Titan Museum Link to comment
Danny caddyshack Noonan
Detonable propellants = Bad. Same stuff that made the BFRCs (.... .... Red Cloud) at VAFB and CCAFS from time to time when the vehicles barely cleared the pad. A bit overhyped on the warhead going high order though IMHO. Lots of safeties in those systems.
