elkroeger
Hi guys, I recently acquired a used (model GX900ES) sony audio video receiver. The FM antenna connector on the back looks like it takes a regular coaxial cable, except the plug is not threaded. I have a TERK FM antenna with coax output, and the cable doesn't fit. It probably would if the plug on the amp was threaded. What the heck kind of plug is this? What adapter do I need? Link to comment
terryofperry
There are many types and sizes of coax. The most common threaded type is known as an "F" connector. The most common non-threaded type is known as a "push on" or "quick connect". Perhaps something like this will work. http://www.parts-express.com/f-connector-screw-on-to-push-on-adapter--090-357 Terry Link to comment

szurszewski
I assume you have a PAL connector - check this google https://www.google.com/search?q=pal+to+coax+adapter&rlz=1CDGOYI_enUS590US591&oq=pal+to+coax&aqs=chrome.1.69i57j0l3.5818j0j9&hl=en-US&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8 Link to comment
elkroeger
You guys are awesome. That looks like it - the "push-on" adapter. Thanks guys. I spent some time with google, and you're right - there is a dizzying array of cable types and adapters. This easily could have taken me a couple of weeks to figure out.... Link to comment
