SJ David
I am wondering about getting a clutch pack balanced checked to make sure that it is correctly indexed. I got a used assembly, slightly used but I can not be sure the person who removed it kept it indexed properly. David M San Jose, CA Link to comment

Afternoon David You might clean the parts up then look for paint marks (I have seen blue, white, pink, & yellow) If you can find the paint marks then-- just make sure that the paint marks on the clutch housing, thrust plate, & housing cover are offset 120°. SJ David
No paint marks at all, are there any other kind of marks? Thanks David M. Link to comment

Afternoon David Paint marks are the only way to be sure, sometimes if you look closely you can match the prior assembly marks, stains, or scratches. If you send it out to be balanced you will probably have to also send the flywheel with it. Link to comment
