David R
I did a search, no results in Camheads. Replacing the inner seal. Its leaking. I feel no movement at the rear wheel. Does the drive come off as easy as it looks in the parts fiche? Do I heat it? 2012 Camhead. 52,000 miles. It leaked around 25,000 and the vent was plugged. I fixed that, no problems until this week. Seal and O rings are ordered. David Link to comment

David Morning David If doing it yourself then don't remove the final drive from the bike (bike makes a good holding fixture) Remove the wheel flange first (easier when drive still on the bike)--heat it just enough to pull it off with a large gear puller. If you pull it off cold you will have to replace the wheel flange & will also ruin the coating on the axle splines. Once the wheel flange is removed then simply unbolt & remove the side cover (it will come off with ring gear & axle attached). Then either replace the bad parts yourself or take the cover & ring gear assembly to a dealer) (you will need some heat here also) -- (A BMW manual is suggested for this work) Link to comment
David R
Thank you! I heated the flange with an induction heater and made a puller. It came off but not easy. Will see what is next, waiting for parts. Riding my airhead until I get this one fixed. David Link to comment
David R
The ring the seal lip rides on looked terrible. New one ordered. Thanks for the help. David Link to comment
