MichiganBob
Good Evening, I once had bolts come out on my 1150RT so I'm a little cautious. Would there be any harm in putting a little blue loctite on my rear wheel lug nuts? Thanks. Bob Link to comment
Marty Hill
If bolts came out, they were not put in correctly. There is no need for locktite. Folks smarter than me might even tell you it's not a good idea. Link to comment

On ANY aluminum or alloy wheel it is always a good idea to recheck the wheel bolt torque after riding a few hundred miles as those tapered lug bolts tend to settle into the tapered seat a little after a few heating & cooling cycles. dirtrider
Morning Bob DO NOT torque to 105 nm 77.5 ft lbs Look in your riders manual (about page 105) it should show as 44 ft/lbs _ 60nm. Link to comment

mrzoom
Let's not over think this. If you find BMW thread locker on a bolt then you should use something like that on reassembly. No thread locker?? forgeta bout it. I have just found gallons of BMW thread locker as I disassemble my 2013RT, Shock bolts and nuts, side stand and center stand bolts, horn mounting bolt and on. BMW must have had an overstock when this baby was built. NO thread locker on the wheel bolts so none goes there. I will check bolts after a few rides just for peace of mind. Link to comment
lkchris
If BMW motorcycles require threadlock on wheel bolts, that means every car on the road needs it too. That's not the case. Link to comment
