We were riding in Virginia and West Virginia last week. Great fun until we got on the Blue Ridge Parkway. They are paving starting around mile post 25 through 100 or something like that. It on the website. Long stretches of loose gravel and flaggers. The northern part is kind of boring anyway but I would recommend an alternate route till they are finished.

I was down there 1-1/2 - 2 weeks ago. Did Skyline Dr and skipped the BRP for that reason. Took some nice backroads to FL. I'll head to the BRP after the conditions improve.
