bdfbeemer
Has anyone done this? I want to change out, reshape the lamp retaining springs. Link to comment
realshelby
I had mine out when doing the LED conversion project. Really not all that bad. But you will probably need a manual to guide you. There are some ......not so obvious methods as to what parts need to come out and what fasteners are involved. Actually removing the entire headlight assembly is almost a joy once you wade through the process. All the electrics are in one simply connector! Then it just pulls out of the mount. Link to comment
narcosis
I haven't yet but plan to this winter. One of the tabs is bent and I simply can't change the low beam bulb without removing the horn and enough tupperware so I can get needle nose pliers on the spring. I bought the Haynes manual and Terry did have some pictures posted associated with his LED project. Maybe between the two I can figure out how to remove the headlight assembly. When I get to it I'll post pics and tips. Changing the low beam bulb should be easy from the front of the bike, reaching up from beneath. That's the goal. I'm on the fourth bulb at 25K miles.
