I don't always walk on water (just ask my wife), but when I do, it is wearing a blue snuggie.

But, but, but, we can see the rock!

It takes some practice, after awhile you don't even need it. I know Pat and I were impressed..

The blue Snuggie effect may have come into play here but more likely, another one of your magical hideaways you've been kind enough to share! Yes, very impressive indeed!

Damn, I just stumbled across this thread. Being in North Dakota, I couldn't ask for a closer ride, other than the Montana one I missed out on. Bought my BMW the week after that rally.

Now the wife has an RT too. So this will be perfect. Matter of fact, we just came back from a week of riding the Black Hills last week. It'll be nice to meet up with some other BMW riders. Count us in!

No good roads out here.

😁 Just kidding.

Lots and lots and lots of stuff for families and non-riders to do at the site and in the area. Roads are spectacular. Even found a few outside of the RV packed areas.

This will work great. I look forward to seeing all in the summer.

Riding: everything from SUPER technical 10MPH hairpin switchbacks and a road that feels like a hot wheels track to undulating ???MPH sweepers to arrow straight and open plains runs, Sturgis canyon run is a hoot. Didn't have proper vehicle for dirt scouting but plenty of well maintained GS stuff plainly visible.

Facility: your UN host will discuss very shortly but a very wide availability of options, amenities, and pricing. It is a great place with super hosts and a ton to do without even leaving. My reservations are made

Crazy Horse, Mount Rushmore, The Black Hills, Devils Tower, Lead, Hill City, deadwood, casinos, keystone, Sturgis, rapid city all within easy striking distance. Rapid city airport is silly convenient to use. Dining options are plentiful with nicer stuff in Rapid City. Multiple wineries, distilleries, breweries in the area.

UN tip of the day: observe strictly the 25MPH zones in the vicinity of the Rushmore gates

Secondary UNtip of the day: Deer and turkey are super plentiful in these parts.

I hope to see many of you next summer. Someone has to take one for the team to make these things possible.....

It's funny. I just did all of those basically a month ago. Stayed in Rapid. Only thing we didn't get to was Devils Tower.

Wife and I have been riding for 25 years. So we're not exactly noobs on motorcycle. But I only switched to the RT 2 years ago. She got hers the end of this July. After only a month to acclimate to the RT, I through her into the curves of Black Hills. She did awesome. Really enjoyed the trip. We're ready to do it again! Can't wait.

This should work out perfectly! The Clean Living Hoosiers and I will be in the neighborhood and officially finishing up our group riding just prior to the UN. This should allow a leisurely ride and rest period to ease :revit::bike: on over thataways, dragging hopefully at least one of the Hoosier boys along with. :read:

You mean on the restaurant menus?

Ummmmm................ Venison loin and smoked turkey breast! Count me in. A few fresh caught trout would pretty well round out the menu.

Did I miss the hotel where everyone is staying?!?!

Or is it very UN hotel...?

It's still a secret - lawnchairboy hinted on the previous page that the loding location would be revealed "soon"....

The hotel info was posted in white text so only those who are UNable to read it can not find out where it's going to be.

However for your benefit I will post it again. If you run your cursor over this text it will display. If you are able to read this,

you will know that it's a closely guarded secret and those of us who know are UNable to tell others under penalty of death. OTOH, who knows?

Your joke only works for those foolish enough to not use the far superior -and faster!- "dark" option ;)

Dang, how do I manage this? Hiking in Yosemite until the 21st at the earliest, plan is to fly out there, Suz won't want to drive home by herself so trailering to Yosemite doesn't sound feasible....hmmmm. 1200 miles across TX and the Plains in July...hmmmm.

Just fly to UN.

I'm sure someone will loan you bike while there....

Yeah, I thought about that. 3,000 miles of driving to get to the UN, a day late, then another 1500 miles or so home. I'm about 120 years old.

The drive and being with all of us at the UN will make you feel younger!

Just stumbled on the thread. Hmm...this could be interesting. I'll be coming off a trip to Banff and Jasper with enough time to swing by the house and say hello to my wife...if I'm still married. Oh...our 44th anniversary is the 20th. This requires some thought... Wife and anniversary? Or bonding with my motorcycle?

Count me in. :)

What's the plan here for accommodations? Do we bring a tent to pitch in the parking lot at the appropriate watering hole? Or is there only enough space for hammocks? :D

Take the Lady out for a nice dinner on the 20th hit the road on the 21st, really hard,, no problem, the nice thing is that even if you don't show up on the first day, everyone will still be there, and there are so many nice roads between your home and the "UN" site.

I carry a tent and sleeping bag just in case the possible cabin spot falls through, they have camp site...
