I spent most of last year not riding after a knee injury, was back up to being able to bend enough to ride the GS a couple of months ago...then forgot how many stairs there are in the house and bent the bad knee all the way pulling a bunch of stuff -now I'm almost back to being able to ride the gs again...d'oh! Hoping to make it down your way sometime sorta soon - I'll be sure to say hello when I figure out when! Link to comment
Redman
Yesterday and today were nice weather (after cold, rainy, windy) and was able to get away for the day today. Today is one of the few over 70degF so far. 75 this afternoon seemed good and warm with clear skys. Was mid 50sthis morning but warming up nicely. Headed out about 9am, . . . and (some can guess) . . . . stopped at local recordstore/coffee shop for a while, then headed out on a favorite ride that puts together a route of some roads that somewhat follow Muskegon river. Stopped for lunch. ANd a visit to a jerky store. Newaygo. Looks like the HD PanAm rider thought the white stripped area by the cross walk was just for him. THen headed off in a further direction that I dont often go. Went thru area of lots of apple orchards and peach orchards. Rolled back into town about 3pm. Only a little over 150 miles. Hey, beach parking lot now open at the state park. Hey, that is kinda like summer time. 6 Link to comment

syntorz
Tuesday I went on a mission to locate, track and photo/video this beaut that was travelling through my area of the Badger State. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canadian_Pacific_2816 Missed it completely. Couldn't catch up when it got ahead of me, and missed it by minutes on a few intercept routes. Can't call it a waste of time, since that isn't possible on two wheels, right? 7 Link to comment

Darbarian
I got my honey out on Piglet - pushing her stated limit, but my reminder to relax her hands worked very well. Neither her hands nor any other parts were tired. She had a very nice ride. So did I. 8 Link to comment

Darbarian
Leo and I made a run over the passes through Wisdom, down the Big Hole River to Divide ... turned around at I-15 and ran back home with a short water/photo break back at Wisdom... 215 miles in 3 hours on 4.5 gallons of premium. One gal flipped me off for overtaking, for wanting to go faster than she was going (pretty dang slow). Some old fart (about my age) coming towards me turned his van left in front of me as I came out of a right-hand bend in the highway. Fortunately my margin for error has finally started showing signs of maturity - leaving me plenty of room for non-drama adjustment. He was operating under the delusion of competent multi-tasking while driving thinking the cell phone use was no problem. 4 1 Link to comment
BrianT
Got my “Kicks on Route Sixty Six…” on my way to Torrey taking the scenic way and started out today. Also did an unplanned 5 miles of dirt road that on the map looks like part of RT-66 in Arizona but is oddly unpaved but has street signs and speed limit signs. 13 Link to comment

BamaJohn
A good ride on a good day is medicine for the soul! There are two photos showing a single trac road where an old railroad bed once was. It runs along the Warrior River near Tuscaloosa AL, and trains would haul coal from the nearby mines to barges on the river. The other photo is one of many old, rusty bridges that apparently still pass inspection, and which make for a nice travel photo. 17 Link to comment

TEWKS
I tried some welding today (recent conversation) but I accidentally welded my side stand to the right side of the bike! Not much of a ride but I rode to the center station to pick up my paycheck. Does anyone here that still gets a paycheck (not retired) get a “live” check (not direct deposit)? I’m one of four that won’t go to DD. Old school mentality I guess. 5 1 Link to comment

Wow, didn't know hard checks were a thing for government org's. Been direct deposit since December of '86 with Navy Fed Credit Union, never an issue (was kinda forcetold to do it). Use to have to stand in line to sign for our checks, then head over to get AmEx travlers checks (kinda PITA process). Then, when you deploy, you could set up split pay where most of your funds went to your bank (wife or savings if single) and your set allotment would go to you where ever deployed. You'd have to sign for the cash payment (ya a dispersing guy would travel around country with plenty of hard cash and two guards). During the gulf war, that same dispersing guy would be able to issue money orders. Since in the desert, there's nothing to spend cash on, so, troops be a'gambling. Every two weeks when dispersing guy showed up, some troops were getting $2-3k money orders to send home. Now, I think the Navy has some sort of cashless system for use on the ships, kinda like a ATM/debit card thingy. 1 Link to comment

TEWKS
Neighbors a week ago plastered the town with missing cat posters. They mentioned they were having a small construction project done at the house and figured the cat got frightened and ran out an open door. They found it yesterday, in their basement. They ain’t the smartest creatures on the planet. The cat. 1 Link to comment

TEWKS
Not a single one. My goal was to have something “different” (but still fun) to ride, and the Spyder fits that bill pretty well. Edit… I thought you said boxer (more coffee). Well, I haven’t driven a Boxster yet, (top down) but I’m going to say very different except for two things. You can’t fall over and people are drawn to it. 1 Link to comment
