09 R1200 GS tire question

Recommended Posts

My 09 1200 GS has 110 80 19 and

150 70 17 rims which limits my tire choices more than I like.

My choices seemed to have narrowed to Michelin Road 6  ( too expensive IMO )

Meztler  Roadtec 01 , love them but usually out of stock

Pirelli Angel GT.

I was considering the Pirelli , however the GT appears to refer to usage on a heavier bike ?

My GS is on the lighter side for touring , so my question is, are the GTs too stiff of a sidewall ?

Any other recommendations ? I ride rather aggressive on pavement and value good side and wet grip but don't want the tire wear of an out and out sport tire.

I know, I want a Unicorn !!

I personally love the Road 6's but agree they are pricey.  I did find a vendor which is cheaper than most and no taxes and free shipping.

The GT's will be fine, especially with a more aggressive riding style.

Thanks for the link Dave. Just ordered a set of Mutants, and they had the best price I could find
