Gleno and Terri were a huge part of the early days of the board, mostly before my time.   Condolences to her family and all the long-time members that knew them so well.

Sometimes memories feel like they were just yesterday.  I sure hope there is a Heaven, because those two kissin' fools sure deserve to be together again.  Godspeed T-Mac.

when my son finished his MOS training he was assigned to Twenty-Nine Palms in CA.  the best flights home and back came out of Las Vegas.

I pinged Gleno and asked if he would let Ryan store his (then 2001 Ducati 996) in Gleno's garage for safe keeping.

He said sure not a problem.  So, the idea was Ryan rides to Gleno's, puts the bike in the garage, leaves his helmet riding gear etc. on the bike, gets a cab and goes to the airport.  pretty straight forward.

 

Ryan arrives, Gleno is at work, Terri already knows Ryan is coming, she has Ryan put the bike in the garage, has a helmet holder and a heavy-duty hanger for his riding clothes.

Has cold water for him.  Ryan asks if they have a cab contact otherwise, I had already sent Ryan some options.  Terri says do not worry, Gleno is taking him to the airport.

 

Gleno comes home, gets the grill going, makes dinner, feeds Ryan, has cold beer for Ryan, drives him to the airport, (I am pretty sure Gleno knew everyone), Ryan was escorted in, and just basically treated like a king.

 

Same thing when Ryan comes back Gleno picks him up, has food, and HAD washed the 996 :-)

 

Basically, for two years Gleno was a surrogate Dad to Ryan anytime Ryan flew home.

I asked numerous times if I could send money for the gas, food, trouble he was putting forth.  Gleno said Ryan was military and that is all I need to know.

 

some people live short lives, but their impact lives forever.  That was Gleno/Terri

I’m not around much these days but this one hit hard.

 

I do believe they’re together again. Godspeed.
