FWIW, a former VP/Mfg of a long-time client got into 4 wheeling early.  Unsatisfied with component quality, he built his own in his garage.  Soon, he was building components for fellow ATVers.  Two years ago, he and his partners sold their ATV component supply firm for $590 mil after spinning off subsidiary companies he still owns.  Not bad, hey?
