litigator
I thought that my XM radio had crapped out, but it was fine in the car. The radio started being staticy after I got the female connector between my helmet and the AC unit wet, and seemed to improve if I unplugged and re-plugged it. However, the noise got worse, sometimes seemingly related to engine RPMs, began going up and down in volume on its own, and now just makes wierd sci-fi kinds of sounds. Link to comment
ChuckS
heck the connection for corrosion, I had this type of issue as well. When I finally started taking apart the plug ins and really looking at then...., there was some green in side. I cleaned this with a solvent and vola' no more issues! Link to comment
litigator
How do you do that, and what kind of solvent? Link to comment
litigator
No knowing how to check the internal comdition of the connectors, I opened the box, only to find that about a square inch of circuit board was green. I sprayed it with a little WD40, gently scrubbed it with a soft tooth brush, and carefully dried it with a soft cloth. I think it's fixed. Link to comment
