Swag
I'm wanting to make a power lead to connect my Garmin GPS to the BMW power scocket for a GPS. I understand you can get a plug with three wires and splice the ground and 12v wires to a cord that will plug into your GPS. That's my problem I'm not sure what connector plug that will fit my GPS to use? Maybe cut and splice the 12v power plug? Or use a USB Plug? Thanks for any help, Bob Link to comment
WLRider
I wired the 3 wire bmw plug to a cigarette lighter outlet. Then mounted that. The standard garmin power will plug into the cigarette lighter. The voltage must be dropped from 12v to 5v and the connector on the end of the garmin wire does that. Link to comment
