Tapatio
I received one of these cool helmet camera's as a gift yesterday. http://vholdr.com/contourhd/techspecs I'm pretty impressed with this unit, very portable and good video quality. My only complaint is that the microphone is built into the unit and cannot be remotely mounted. Here is a short 2.5 minute video I took this morning on the way to work. The camera is mounted in the middle of the dash on my R1200RT, behind the windscreen. The camera was set to the maximum resolution, 1280X720 @30fps. The reason the video is not at full HD resolution is because my smugmug account does not support anything higher than DVD quality. Sample Video Large Sample Video Small Link to comment
johnlt
video looks great but I agree with you on the mic. Is there any way to mute it? Link to comment
j4bberw0ck
That answers the question "does the curved windshield distort video unacceptably". Thanks. Link to comment
Tapatio
video looks great but I agree with you on the mic. Is there any way to mute it? You can't turn the microphone off but you can dub over it with video editing software. I've read that a few people have dissambled the unit and attached a longer microphone to the camera so it can be placed in a better position where wind is not a factor. I'm going to try it since it is reversible and fairly easy to modify. I'll post the results when completed. http://www.vholdr.com/forums/tips-and-tricks/finally-external-mic Link to comment
