Dundee387
I have a passenger socket on my R1200 RT, with an Autocom Superpro system. The system has a "direct battery connection". The passenger socket is dead, is this due to switched power for Autocom unit? Looks like a thin red cable going into that area from Autocom... ? Just wondering if this would make sense.. If it did, I would have to add another socket on the opposite side (for passenger heated vest), or just get a fuse panel, and run the Autocom to that, so I could use my socket again...? Or should this socket continue to function as normal.. Thanks. Link to comment
John Bentall
The typical way to wire up an Autocom is to tap into the live feed for the rear socket (which continues to function as usual) and to connect the negative directly to the battery. Autocom do offer an alternative cable that provides a relay-type live feed when the ignition is switched on. In this case, I would not expect to see a lead going from the Autocom into the passenger socket. Link to comment
