notacop
So I put a new battery in my old Tire gauge. Now it reads 1.0. Has any one else seccessfully installed a battery in one of these? The English guys suggested putting it in the microwave for 1 1/2 minutes. Didn't work. I was going to use a large mallet for a reset. But thought I'd check here to see if there is more scientific knowledge here. Thanks, Nota... Link to comment
scout6
I took my dead gauge to the dealer at the BMWMOA rally. Swapped it for free. Link to comment
notacop
Hadn't thought pf a warrantee, thanks. I'll keep it around for the next MOA Nat. Link to comment
mteitler
I've had one for a few years. When I first got it the relief valve barely worked. I took it apart to see if I could fix it and I ruined it. RoadGear took it back, grudgingly, and sent me a new one. The thing I like least about it is that it eats batteries at an alarming rate. PITA if you ask me. I've gone back to a low-tech analog AccuGauge. Link to comment
swilson
When mine acts up I pull the battery out and scrub the contact surfaces clean... that seems to get it working well again. Link to comment
Tony_K
Just for reference Radio Shack has/ had a clone of the original non folding Road Gear gauge. I think I got mine for 2.95. (I also don't think they have it anymore.) As for batteries I purchase those via ebay in packs of 20+ for under 10 dollars. Very good deal when you see how much retail stores charge for 2!
