any opinions on these two helmets?

I prefer the flip on the n103, but unlike the 102, they are now mounting the shade on the inside. It doesn't ratchet. I LOVE the ratcheting feature of the shade on the 102.

 

I prefer the shade on the 84, but the helmet is not a flip. I'm a flip junkie.

 

I don't know why I'm waiting. I need to buy a still in stock 102 before they are all gone. My 102 met the ground 2x in 2010. I love everything about the 102.

I got an n-103 to replace my Schuberth. I've had 2 Schuberths and like the 103 much better. I place a piece of black tape on the upper section of the shade and it acts as a "visor" when riding into the sun. Works outstanding in blocking the sun. Another feature I like is all the padding comes out so it can be washed. Not so with the Schuberth. The 103 is not quite as quiet as the Schuberth but on an RT, it's fine. Very easy to install mic and speakers which was a real pain with the Schuberth. The flip part works great with easy controls.
