SK_in_AB
Due to pressure from the 4 women in my life I find myself in Palm Springs for a week. Not enjoying the pool and 70F and sunshine compared to the snow and 18F of Calgary Plan to head west to LA for at least one day, and while the ladies are occupied (read shopping) I was going to look for a warm weather jacket and/or some BMW gear. Any recommendations on good stores or BMW dealers anywhere on the way into or out of LA? thanks in advance Link to comment

Jon_M
I've always had good experiences here: http://www.irvseaverbmw.com/ Another shop with a good selection of gear is here: http://www.brownmotorworks.net/ If you like Walmart, you might try this place, though personally I can't stand to go into it: http://www.bertsmegamall.com/inside.html All three of these places are easy to find if you are coming in from Palm Springs. I can also tell you how to find some snow in case you are homesick. Link to comment
Danny caddyshack Noonan
Stephen, Minor hijack. On the way, head a bit north as you pass through Yucaipa and grab lunch or dinner at Mill Creek Cattle Co. in Mentone. It's about an hour west of PS. Hopefully, they haven't gone cheap like a lot of places lately. Good quality barbeque. Link to comment
JR356
on Irv Seaver BMW.Large gear selection. Brown's BMW did not have a huge selection when I was there last year, but it's worth a stop. CycleGear is a big chain in the US that carries a variety of gear, Lots of stores in California. Lots of cheaper stuff, but can also find FirstGear jackets, etc there, sometimes at good closeout pricing. JR356 Link to comment
jaytee
http://www.chaparraledealership.com/map_hours.asp is another huge store with bikes and gear of all kinds. Link to comment
Beemer_Nancy
Chaparrel as noted in the post above is HUGE. Not a BMW place, multibrand everything else, HUGE gear and supply place. Like a Walmart huge. We trek up there whenever we need something significant, like a helmet, jacket, etc. Bike parking is right in front! Link to comment
SK_in_AB
Thanks for the tips everyone. Looks like I will have a good chance of getting something good to take home. BTW Paul, the avatar is from Lake Windermere in BC about 3 hours west of Calgary. Ski in winter, wakeboard in summer -Just like Lake Tahoe except the summer is only 2 1/2 months long! Link to comment
