StriderWalker
Just bought the BMW Navigator IV and the BMW mount for my R1200RT. I use the low profile Marsee Ciao Borsa tank bag, which obscures the lower half of the screen. I really don't want to put a shelf above, but may have to. Has anyone used any of the various mounts (ram ball, or ???) for GPS? Any advice? Link to comment
krussell
I used a tech mount that went into the mirror hole on the left handlebar. It worked fine, I ultimately replaced it with a BMR shelf. I've used that left handlebar location with a couple of bikes, and while I prefer up front and center, I think the left handlebar is a good alternative. http://www.techmounts.com/products/index.php?page_function=detail&product_id=10 Link to comment
elkroeger
I haven't used the Nav IV, 1200rt, or Marsee bag, but I've always been quite happy with the Ram Mounts I've used. They always seem to me to be a pretty good value too.. Link to comment
EddyQ
I haven't used the Nav IV, 1200rt, or Marsee bag, but I've always been quite happy with the Ram Mounts I've used. They always seem to me to be a pretty good value too.. I do a lot of commuting on my RT and don't need the GPS or mount for that. The ram mount easily allows me to take everything off the bike when I'm done with a ride. All that remains is a ball. For power, I plug the GPS into the front accessory plug. Maybe in the future I will wire a better connection, but this works surprisingly well for me. Link to comment
