BarOne
My stock tank bag is getting a bit long in the tooth and will need replacement soon. I like some features of the bag and want to use the base on the new tank bag but want to avoid the horn sounding when turning the bars hard left. So here is my question. What tank bags do you recommend for an 05' R1200RT that will: - fit on the base - be the same size or a bit smaller than the original - have storage pockets (instead of one cavern) - be rain proof (or have rain cover) - have a map pocket (preferably removable) - a pass through for electronics / water bladder - narrow enough at the top to not sound the horn Thanks folks. moshe_levy
You don't need a new tank bag not to hit your horn. You just need one of these Wunderlich Horn Guard Part Number: 8500247 Price: $28.00 -MKL Link to comment
BarOne
Thanks for the tip. I would rather save the $28 for the work around and spend it a better bag. Someone must have found a good one that fits on the standard bag base. Link to comment
CopsRT
Contact Linda at Custom Tank Bags (http://www.customtankbags.com). I sent her my old bag and she took it off of the base and made one with all of the acc. that I wanted. I now have a custom bag that snaps on to the tank rails like the stock bag. Link to comment

Bradley_Gillie
I have this Touratech bag mounted to the BMW tank bag base, and it works great for me. Link to comment
Tom V
My son has the 10L Marsee (corona) mounted tank bag on his 2005 RT. Works great and looks good. http://www.racerpartswholesale.com/category/MarseeProducts Tom Volk full disclosure: I own RPW home of Marsee Products and Helen Twowheels Products Link to comment
Robyn
Not familiar with this piece. How does it work, do you have a pic of it installed? Link to comment
Tom V
http://www.marseeproducts.com/ Corona pictures on BMW bike unfortunately--not your RT but this should give you the idea. Link to comment
moshe_levy
Robyn- I don't have it on my bike, but I've seen it. There is a pic of it on the Wunderlich site - just go there. It basically blocks the horn button from touching the tank bag at full lock left. -MKL Link to comment

RedMac
BigMak makes one that fits on the base. I just installed one on my base for the same reason (BMW bag was getting to be in bad shape) http://www.bigmakaccess.com/ It's called the Retro Bag and comes in two sizes. I got the smaller one and picked up a used BMW bag when I have a need for a bigger bag. Link to comment
