Dundee387
Anyone have this setup? Do you also use ear plugs? The Autocom headset fit great inside my older RF-800, which has deeper ear wells... The 1000 is much more snug. I can't see how this would work without cutting into the helmet.. Very tight. Link to comment
CruisinCruzan
I wear foam earplugs with my RF-1000 and to make things manageable I disassembled the speaker from the plastic surround, placed it into position traced the outline and with a mototool removed a tiny amount of foam, just enough to make the fit tolerable. No problems since. Link to comment
Bob_Minor
I carved into mine. The directions say it's a no-no but there's no way the speakers would clear my ears without imbedding them into the foam. And yes, I also wear earplugs and it works great but does require close to full volume on the ipod. Link to comment

RocketMoto
As suggestions, above indicate there's more than one approach. The RF1000 ear pockets are small and shallow. If you want, we can assist you in fitting the headset - much of Connecticut is not so far from here. Link to comment
