I just purchased a 1979 R100RT, ,, Does mean its a hex head..?

I feel like a real dumb ass asking,,But i bought a 1979 R100RT,, I know its air cooled,, but what section do the air heads talk under..?

 

PS : I also am looking for a lower center piece faring, any color / any condition within reason.. lol ,, I did post that request in the other section under classifieds,,,

a R100 is considered an airhead. Around here they end up in the "non R/K Bikes". I can't say I understand that as they are an R bike, but thats where they ended up

 

R100 (or older boxers) = airhead

R1100/R1150 = Oilhead

R1200 = Hexhead

Good airhead forum for your vintage. I have a 79RT as well. DonW on this site is an expert and usually has a line on parts. Good luck.
